Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, friends! This season is a time of reflection for me, so I’ll begin my post with a look to the past.

On the left is Christmas 1949 with my mother and sister (on the left) with our much loved dolls Santa faithfully delivered every year. On the right are my two children on Christmas Eve, 1979. I can’t remember them looking so scrubbed and shiny as they do here.
Fast forward to today. There’s so much to do in preparation for the holidays–baking, decorating, and have you started shopping? In an attempt to bring joy to your shopping, may I direct you to your local independent book store for the readers on your list. Christin Young at Monarch Books and Gifts in Overland Park is hosting an annual author event this Saturday, December 9th from 4-6pm. So looking forward to it!

A huge thank you to Janell and Krista at Blue Cottage Agency for their holiday ad campaign. You and the group of authors you represent are why the world of writing is so special for me.

How about some comfort and joy for the taste buds? This Chocolate Stout Guinness Cake with Baileys Frosting is delicious if you need a new holiday dessert.

If the recipe is difficult to read as displayed here, google it and you’ll find similar recipes. You can substitute brewed coffee for the stout (but keep the Bailey’s :).

All our family was together for Thanksgiving, the first time in many years. There’s no better gift. From our house to yours, may the joy of Christmas fill your hearts. Blessings for the coming year.
I’ll leave you with one of my favorite Christmas carols, “Hark the Herald Angels Sing.” Enjoy Three Irish Tenors singing at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftmmh7b0lDU
Until next time . . .
Merry Christmas, Jane🎄 Thanks for sharing your tenors. They were truly inspirational! Have a blessed holiday and creative New Year ❣️🤓
Merry Christmas to you! I hope you have a lovely New Year. Did the pictures come through for you? I’ve heard that some devices don’t interface very well. What device do you use to get my blogs? I create my blog on a PC.
Merry Christmas Jane! You have a loving, giving, cheerful spirit that shines through all your writing and your family too! I am looking forward to reading your next novel in 2024! Happy New Year.
And yes, your photos came through just fine.
