Welcome to my website! I’m delighted you dropped by.
I love the written word, and I love history.
I grew up hearing stories from my immigrant grandparents about settling in a coal mining town in Wyoming in the early 1900’s. Those stories stayed with me, became treasured over time, so I decided to write about them. In telling my grandparents story I’ve come to realize the world was and is full of people like them, whose stories we should tell. Everyday courage, everyday sacrifice, everyday determination, everyday faith and love are worthy of sharing and showing us the way forward. Inspired by my family’s experience, I’m very excited to announce the publication of my first novel, Marcello’s Promise, coming out in December 2019. You can read more about Marcello and Luisa’s journey by clicking the Book tab.
I’m pleased to announce my short story “Lila’s Song” won Women Writing the West LAURA Award 2021. The story can be read at Women Writing the West.
Check my blog for historic tidbits related to the background of Marcello’s Promise, names of books worth reading, interesting and out-of-the-way places to visit, and a sampling of photos I’ve taken. Plus a memoir or two—you’ll just have to come back to see what’s new. Until then, I wish you good reading.
